The Events Group (TEG), a business group for event industry professionals in the UAE, hosted its CEO Breakfast Networking Event on February 6, 2025, at Kanvas, a venue known for its focus on visual and digital arts.
The event brought together senior leaders from across the industry, including CEOs, directors, and decision-makers from event planning firms, venue operators, production teams, and service providers. This gathering provided a space for high-level discussions on key industry developments, particularly in the areas of AI, digital marketing, and innovation. TEG emphasized the importance of staying informed about global trends and creating opportunities for collaboration within the local events sector.

In the coming months, TEG will focus on AI and digital marketing, providing members with updates and learning opportunities to help them remain competitive. As technology continues to influence the industry, TEG’s goal is to ensure professionals have the resources needed to adapt and grow.
The group will also continue its efforts in community rewards, recognition, and learning. This includes initiatives such as the live voting segment at the WOW Awards and recognition programs like those involving EventLab and Coca-Cola Arena. The live voting concept at the WOW Awards was a standout feature, allowing industry professionals and attendees to cast real-time votes, ensuring a transparent and democratic selection process. EventLab and Coca-Cola Arena’s win through this system demonstrated the industry’s appreciation for genuine skill, effort, and innovation. This approach aligns perfectly with TEG and WOW’s ethos of fairness, transparency, and celebrating true excellence in the events sector. TEG will also expand learning opportunities across different platforms to support industry professionals.

Paul Berger, CEO of Arena Events and Board Advisor to TEG, highlighted the significance of having a business group that truly represents industry leadership. He stated, “It’s really important to have a business group that truly represents us. The business group serves as the voice of our industry—whether in education, innovation, regulation, or health and safety—constantly striving to improve standards. The only way to achieve this is by bringing together members from different sectors, including talent, venues, event services, and management.

It’s not about business generation; it’s about collaboration—brainstorming ways to enhance our industry, attract new talent, educate, and innovate. A shared vision is essential, and that’s what a business group provides. Most industries worldwide have one, and TEG is the official business group for the events industry in the UAE. It’s a fantastic platform, and we need more members to strengthen our collective efforts.”
The event also introduced TEG’s upcoming initiatives, including its first Annual General Meeting (AGM) in May, marking two years since the group’s launch. Additionally, members were briefed on TEG’s discussions with the Dubai government regarding timely payments, permit processes, and import/export regulations for event equipment. A scheduled advocacy meeting is set for the end of February to address these issues further and push for industry-wide improvements.

Held at Kanvas, the CEO Breakfast Networking Event encouraged meaningful conversations in an engaging setting. The exclusive nature of the event ensured that senior industry leaders had the opportunity to connect with peers, share insights, and explore ways to strengthen the industry at a strategic level.
